A female domestic worker from Bogor, West Java, was found dead at an Indonesian Embassy shelter in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.
"Oom had just arrived at the shelter a couple of days ago. She was brought here by the Malaysian police who was looking for a place for her to stay," embassy spokeswoman Santi said, as quoted by Antara news.
Oom, 50, is suspected to have succumbed to an unknown illness.
"We haven't even gotten the chance to interview this lady because she is always quiet. Whenever she's asked she declines to answer. We suspect that she's an illegal immigrant who was suffering from a terminal illness," Santi said.
According to the others at the shelter, Oom reportedly had ask for milk earlier in the day, at 7.30 a.m. She was found dead at 11.00 am.
"Her body is taken to hospital for a post-morterm," the spokeswoman said.
The Malaysian police has reportedly questioned several other shelter residents, the embassy staffers and also investigated the scene where the body was found. (amr)
