SINGAPORE: NTUC, together with the Singapore National Employers Federation Migrant Workers Forum, has set up a new Migrant Workers Centre.

The six-member Migrant Workers Forum, comprising union and employer representatives, will oversee the centre.

The centre will provide Singapore's foreign workers with a one-stop source for advice and assistance on employment-related matters.

It will also help foreign workers bring their cases to the Manpower Ministry for conciliation, investigation and other services.

Foreign workers who have been abandoned by their employers will be able to receive interim food and housing as well.

Programmes like conversational English classes, and social and recreational activities will also be conducted at the centre.
