Reward good workers

April 07, 2009

The Standar

Regarding the article "Maid charged over spiked baby's milk," (The Standard, March 27): It was a bit too much mentioning several cases in past years involving Indonesian maids. It probably made some employers scared or suspicious of their own helpers. The cases had no relevance to the story.

Also, employees and employers are more likely to trust each other and be happier if they can talk through their problems rather than using threats or throwing tantrums.

I wonder if there could be a government award for excellent agencies (that provide good training and service) as well as one for excellent employees, which would show it is concerned about creating a healthy and better working environment in Hong Kong.
