KLANG: The Indonesian maid who was arrested for allegedly sexually molesting a five-year-old girl in a kindergarten in Kapar was released on police bail yesterday afternoon.
The 21-year-old maid had been remanded for six days since Sunday.
Klang district police chief ACP Mohamad Mat Yusop said they were waiting for the medical rep-ort and a video recording from the Child Protection Unit in Bukit Aman.
He said police had recorded a statement from the child's mother, a doctor and workers at the kindergarten.
Police picked up the maid from a house in Kapar on March 28.
The girl's mother said her daughter had refused to go to the kindergarten, saying the maid had inserted her fingers into her private parts twice.
The 39-year-old housewife, identified only as Too, took her daughter to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital for a medical examination.
The mother later lodged a report at the Kapar police station on March 27.
In another case, a 15-year-old girl, accompanied by her mother has lodged a report that she was raped by a man on several occasions in Bandar Sultan Sulaiman in Port Klang.
After repeated questioning by the mother, the girl said she was also raped once at home when she was alone.
Police are looking for a 20-year-old suspect.
