MAIDS: Try living the hard life of your maid

I REFER to the letter "Anything but a win-win situation for us" (NST, Sept 10), where C.I.A.S. of Shah Alam relates the problems he (or she) faced with his (or her) Indonesian maid. However, since this employer kept the maid in spite of all her shortcomings until she ran away, the employer still must have been better off with the maid than without her.

If this is not true, then there is only one possible solution for C.I.A.S. and those with the same frame of mind: do not get a maid in the first place and do all the work yourself. When you have finished, make sure you reward yourself with exactly the same pay and all the attendant benefits that you used to give your maid, after which feedback will be appreciated.
