A 25-YEAR-OLD Indonesian maid could not make up her mind whether to marry her Filipino boyfriend or her Bangladeshi lover.
On Dec 17 2007, the naked body of Ms Yulia Afriyanti was found stuffed in a cardboard box in a third-floor unit of an uncompleted condominium in Queensway.
Construction worker Kamrul Hasan Abdul Quddus, 35, a Bangladsehi national, is now on trial for her murder.
In the High Court on Thursday, Deputy Public Prosecutor Peter Koy said that although Kamrul has denied killing her, evidence will show that he is guilty.
He said that DNA evidence will show that Kamrul had sex with Ms Yulia earlier at the murder scene.
Other evidence will also prove that what Kamrul had told police were lies, said DPP Koy.
Lawyers Ang Sin Teck and Rajan Supramaniam have been assigned by the Supreme Court to defend Kamrul as it is a capital case.
If he is convicted of murder, Justice Kan Ting Chiu must order a death sentence.
