Indonesian worker Umi Saodah, who has been trapped since fighting broke out in late December in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, will touch down in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon, a Foreign Ministry official said Monday.
"Umi Saodah will return to Indonesia tomorrow," Foreign Ministry director for protection of Indonesian citizens abroad Teguh Wardoyo told tempointeraktif.com.
Saodah is scheduled to arrive at Terminal II of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
"We have also informed the family [about her arrival]," Wardoyo said.
According to official data, Saodah had left for Palestine eight years ago with the help of a company called PT Andro Meda Jakarta.
Saodah, originally from Central Java, had, however, initially worked in Jordan as a domestic helper before moving to work in Palestine.
The latest information the ministry has received about her was that she had been detained for questioning at a local police station because of a dispute she had with her employers.
She was detained not long before the Israeli military operation started on Dec. 27. (amr)
